the story of growing up Scroggins

It is official...

Coldplay may be quickly becoming one of the greatest bands of all time. They were in Dallas on Wednesday night...I so wanted to be there. Quote from a critic.."The British rockers, who still humbly thank their screaming fans for bothering to come out, have secured a place as an undeniably great band, one of heft, talent and substance."

Why does it seem that so many ultra super star rock bands come from that small dreary island in Europe.

Oh Daniella.

Yet another point of contention.

First Gray's Anatomy, now this.

Let me preface the following comment by saying that the more that I discover that we are totally at odds on just about everything under the sun, the more I enjoy your blog and being friends with you and [the blogger] Coldplay.

You know what? I'm going to take the high road here and say simply that I don't really care for [the band] Coldplay and disagree with your assessment that they are great.

I'll bet you like Springsteen too, don't you? ;) Ugh.

Jarhead,

You are becoming such a softie! I am just going to HAVE to take credit for some of that. :)

We're a Coldplay Household, just like all other Good Middle Class Whiteguys. But here's the thing, on this last album, aren't they just a big U2 (ala Rattle & Hum) knock off? I mean, I can hardly separate the two sounds, honestly. Don't get me wrong - very much talent. Very gratifying political correctedness and appropriate level of outrage, compassion and general hipitude. Plus my kids dig it, so no fighting over the ipod playlist, there.

Jarhead...I will start by saying that I do enjoy Coldplay very much, but more than anything I am trying to irritate my friends which apparently worked with you. I apparently made everyone listen to Coldplay about 50 songs too many one wild and crazy night and so now I am known as the guy that loves Coldplay. I am really just a guy who loves to play with my Ipod. Coldplay is just a bit I guess.

'Trying to irritate friends' - - no kidding. Everytime I hear Coldplay it takes me back to a night in New Braunfels, watching the Olympics telling the folks from the USA to 'just run faster.'
