Don't let the haters get you down. Or whatever the case may be. I just spent over an hour painstakingly going through all my Facebook privacy settings and re-aligning them so basically no one can search for me, if they somehow stumble upon me they can't see photos of me, and I don't have to read the million emails letting me know that someone else commented on someone's status update. Can't be too careful, or to anal, when it comes to this stuff.
I also made my personal blog private, per Shane's request. I eventually agreed it was a good idea, though, especially since our family blog is like yours, a way to record our stories, funny moments and photos. You can even adjust the settings so that your blog doesn't show up in your blogger profile ... as if it doesn't even exist. I even went ahead and did that because I also read and occasionally comment on various blogs related to writing/journalism. Since I don't know any of those people personally, I didn't necessarily want them to access our personal posts through my profile.
