Toy Day

Friday is Toy Day in P.E. at school, and we've begun the battle of just saying "no" to taking any kind of electronic item, i.e. the Nintendo DS or IPOD.  It just doesn't seem like a good idea in our book.

Todd's response to Toy Day:

"Toy Day?  in P.E.?  Shouldn't they have running your ass off day instead?"

Let's just say we aren't fans of the day.

I agree with running your ass of day! :) Speaking of ipod's: My sister's second had hers a total of 48 hours before it was LOST! Ugh! They did end up finding it, but come on!

Cale won't stop talking about toy day, he is completely wadded on the perfect toy to take. I am with you on no to all electronics. Thaine wants to take his iTouch, I reminded him that his remote control car came back in pieces last year. Blah. I join you in the 'not a fan of toy day' club!

I think we'll take jacks.

So I guess all those Carson kids - who have Friday P.E. "free" day, but not "toy" day - who are getting re-aligned into Rann next year will think they hit the lottery

I suggested that Sam take a football. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, "We can't take a ball - it might break the other toys." Seriously? No football to P.E.?

Cale is taking the highly annoying 'Bop It' game....has it in a bag and ready for the big day tomorrow. Now on to find Thaine a 'cool' toy that isn't a ball, and won't get broken....

stupid...just like not going out for recess LOL, shelly!
If we lived in Colorado, we would have to send our kids to school with snow pants and boots cause they do go out...but I guess that's why we don't live there..only visit.

update to toy day.....after all that, Quinn forgets to bring her ipod to school and we can't locate a jumprope to save our lives! Ran the ipod up to her just before PE time so she wouldn't feel left out.

yes, we had many breakdowns at our house about this issue...finally left with bendaroos and those tiny skateboards.
