Yes, it is for book club in Feb-I thought I'd get an early start since it had a million pages, but then fell victim to Danielle Disease of Reading, and couldn't put it down. Todd actually just finished the sequel...he liked it. I might have to have a few light reads before I pick the next one up though.
Let's see...1989...I think I was reading Where the Red Fern Grows for 8th grade english. :)
But, Jarhead, I'm glad we have something else to agree on. I'll keep an eye out for that!
I read them back to back for the most part. I thought the second one was on par with Pillar, but I can appreciate why someone might not think that. Sometimes I find when the first book is so good, it is very hard to give the second book a real chance. But I guess these are just opinions and we all know opinions are like assholes...everybody has one. :)

I assume this was for book club? Are y'all going to read the second one? It's also very good.
I read this when it first came out in 1989 or so. You're right ~ it is a very good book [hey! Something else we agree upon].
I read the sequel "World Without End" last summer, and while it was good, it wasn't even close to "Pillars."
