What I need for Christmas. That is right..."need". My current Ipod's battery is tittering on the edge of 4 to 5 hours and that is just not long enough. This new 32 GB Ipod Touch sure would come in handy. I'm just saying.
Ipod Todd listens to his Ipod everday. Especially at work. The battery lasted 12 hours when I first got it almost 3 years ago. Now if I go work out in the afternoon it dies in the middle of my 35 minute run. Which leads to my version of hell. Running in one place without music, sweating my ass off, no fan, bored out of my mind while every tv is tuned to Fox News. So as you can see this is a very important purchase.
i too was thinking that a new battery would be a more logical solution to this ipod dilemma. while the ipod touch is life changing and up there with tivo...you can't exactly work out with it like you can the other ipods. the weight alone would make you lose your drawers.
also note that because the ipod touch has a lighted screen, the battery life doesn't last all that long...from my experience. now that your bubble is officially busted--good luck!
My bubble is not busted yet. I currently have the 30 GB old school first video and it has worked fine. I can't imagine a battery would be worth replacing in an Ipod that is 3 years old. I do agree that the batter will probably not work as well in the Touch, but I assume it should work better if you don't keep it lit up all the time.

When do you find the time to listen to 4-5 hours of music? My life must not be set up correctly...

I heard a rumor that you can purchase a new battery for IPODS.
