Daddy Daugher Dance 2011
Todd and Madison went on their annual fancy date this weekend, and had their usual great time. Madison looks forward to this night every year. She loves the dinner, the dancing, the fancy atmosphere, and EVEN THE DRESS! This was the first year I wasn't working the dance, so I wasn't able to catch any action pictures...but looking at these make me smile--and looking back on a few from the last year or so...it's amazing how fast our little girl is growing up.

The Blizzard of 2011
Compare to 2009 and 2010. I think the Scroggins Hoodlums are getting a little spoiled! This time was different in that there was Ice before the Snow, and you can't make a snowman with ice! We were glad to get out of the house today and stomp around in the pretty snow, make a few snowballs, and come inside for some cough medicine. One good thing about the Snow Week? I'm hopeful the Scroggins Clan finally got rid of some of these germs! To keep ourselves occupied, the kids rotated making schedules. Today was Tanner's turn:
9-9:45 Wake up and eat breakfast
9:45-10:48 Family Game Time
10:48-11:30 Wii Time
11:30-12:30 Quiet time with electronics
12:30-12:55 Lunch
12:55-1:05 Snow Time
1:05-2:30 Mommy/Kid Time
2:30-3:20 Movie time
3:20-3:51 Dance Off
3:51-4:31 Movie time
4:31-bedtime: Do whatever you want.
You gotta love his eye for detail. I think tomorrow we will finally be able to get out of the house and see what the world looks like again, but sadly, it's not looking good for next Monday. How many snow days can we have in one year? And, silly me...I thought we wouldn't have any this year!

Snow Day!!!
School was canceled early this morning for "the coldest temperatures in more than a decade." And, in addition thundersleet, ice and snow. So, good reason to stay homebound. I've talked at length about my love of snow day-the necessity of staying home and doing some massive family bonding. Today we had a Julie Andrews marathon-if two movies counts as a marathon: Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music. I just love both those movies, and now the kids are walking around singing "Do, a deer, a female deer..." I couldn't be more proud.
We feasted on a Scroggins family favorite-Todd's popcorn, too. I don't know what is different about popcorn popped in a skillet, but it's yummy! Now we are stuck watching a crazily dorky movie the kids picked. Shoot me now-but at least it's not The Power Rangers. I plan to throw them in bed soon, after a shot of nyquil, and watching something much, much more entertaining.
We are off again tomorrow-and I'm thinking a Wii Marathon might be in order to keep these hoodlums occupied for another whole day. We'll see.
We get these a couple times a year-a blessing and a curse at the same time, but worth it I think. :)
